Brilliant Blogs

So hello and here I am again. Sitting with my fully charged and ready to go MacBook. Here I am ready to blog with a slightly fuzzy head after plenty of free flowing red wine and live music at a pub last night. The thing is, I had a super time. And yet my blog, Wots 4 Tots, and everything in between kept popping into my head. I swear I had all these amazing ideas. Thoughts. Suggestions. Tips. Stories. What to write. How to move forward with everything. Like all the dots of knowledge I have been collecting these last six months need to be joined up together in some way now. I’ve saved articles to Pinterest, favourited what I think might be helpful links on twitter and cut out bits and bobs that caught my eye in a helpful starting a blog/website sort of a way. And now I feel the time has come to really get going. To collate all my information and crack on. So that’s what I’ll be doing today. Really giving myself a clear and insightful picture of what I intend to achieve and how I shall get there. And last night was a reminder (yet again!) of just how important it is to carry a blogging book at ALL TIMES! Even when I’m with my mates down the pub. Or on the bus. Or just waking up. Or have a spare few minutes at work while my little charge naps.

I can really understand when bloggers say how therapeutic writing is. It is a way to get your thoughts and experiences out there into the big wide world and share with others. A lot of whom may understand. It’s a modern way to connect us together. It’s brilliant really. What I find totally amazing is just how many bloggers are out there. I mean there’s gazillions of parenting bloggers alone. In these last few months I’ve read quite a lot of blogs. There are many that are in some way brilliant, funny, poignant, sad, insightful, or helpful and I’d like to share the ones I’ve especially enjoyed reading recently. Everyone I’ve interacted with so far within this new and exciting world seems so friendly, open, honest, engaging, witty. And I like this. These lovely people have helped brighten my day in some way. And so far, this blogging worlds seems sharing and caring with quite a lot of love so I hope they are happy to be mentioned here! (in no particular order!) –

To be honest, sometimes all this social media/ blogging/ website can feel very new and overwhelming. Can I get lots of likes, followers? Just how important is that? Will anyone want to read my blog or use Wots 4 Tots? The more I look at it all, the more scary it can feel to me. Gosh, I’m pretty darn sure not one single person has read even one of my posts to date. Yet, here I am, plodding on, in the hope that one day, ONE person will read one. And that’s a start. That’s all I can hope for for now. So if you are reading this post, or any of my others, it’d be amazing if you’d let me know (cue social media…)

I guess, in conclusion to what I’ve written today is that to succeed in my own way with all this is to be true to myself (apologies, that sounds such a naff cliché). To just be honest, be myself and what will be will be. And by the way, I think I should drink more red wine the evening before blogging. It’s not even 9.30am and I’ve put in an ocado order and written a post. Win Win. Happy days!

Until next time…x
